In response to my lovely roommate's post regarding how I keep "badgering me about that just confuses the hell out of me in the end". Ultimately, I guess I do talk about Brad Neely a fair bit, but simply because I find his work to be hilarious. I have a number of friends who would agree with me in regards to this point.
I was introduced to this man by a co-worker quite a long time ago. He would hound me incessantly to watch a film called "Wizard People: Dear Reader" which is really just a full overdub of the first Harry Potter film done by Brad Neely, and it is quite the laugh when you actually invest the 2.5hrs it takes to watch it. Since then, I've become quite the fan of this man's work. Although, I'll fully admit that theperrysaurus has every right to complain. It does become quite the topic of conversation as I thought he may enjoy it.
(This man enjoys nothing. NOTHING!)
There have been a few episodes of this man's work that theperrysaurus has legitimately enjoyed, I think. I seem to recall him mentioning The Role Play Tournament, though it makes sense because it actually has something that would pertain to him. The short also has a rather good message that most everyone can follow: Be Aggressive.
(Barbarians are the true class)
He can also teach you about history. The Professor Brothers, two of Neely's characters and the center-point of his new Adult Swim cartoon China, IL both appear to teach History *cough* professionally "cough. Be it bible history, American history, or... Well, that's enough material to offend most audiences, the Professor Brothers can teach you quite a bit.
(JFK: Fake Man, Great Stats)
Neely's other big character (barring his new TV show which features everyone), Baby Cakes, a 30 something bumbling idiot who drinks, writes a diary, and raps about things that he hates, is a lovable character and probably room for a lot of confusion as a lot of what he says doesn't make sense. His bits really aren't supposed to, though, and admittedly he's not a character for everyone in high doses. He does, however, bring cheer with how much of an idiot he can be.
(Or disgust, y'know)
All in all, I'm still a fan of this man's comedy, no matter what theperrysaurus says about me. I know for a fact that I could never truly piss him off. So I'll continue about my ways and do the things I enjoy... Like bugging the crap out of him.
(Also, you can check out China, IL on Cartoon Network, your favorite torrent site, or Ice Films)
(Final footnote, I suck at blogging and don't know how to remove a background color...)
