Animated VGCATS
Let me start with saying it's a fluke I caught these at all. I go to VG Cats once every couple of... years maybe? For a long time I thought Scott finally quit the comic game. For some reason I had the urge to check it today and for once I was rewarded. There were actually a couple of strips up I haven't seen. More importantly I found out that there are dedicated fans out there that make the strips into cartoons! Excitement! I don't care if I'm the last one to know! A whole bunch of videos after the jump! (Including a Christmas special!)
DCU Power Girl... Yeesh
First loading screen of the game, it looks like the artists are from the same school of thought as the game designers (the school of gigantic boobs).

Out and About: The First! Monster Comic Lounge
The First entry in out and about!
I warn you now there's no rhyme or
reason to the order of this, i just went with one out of a proverbial
hat really. I decided to go today (that is, the 26th),
just to get out of the house moreless. Two birds with one......

Creatures, Castles and His Face All Red
Just started playing Hive's Creatures & Castles. The game isn't bad (at the price of free it's a bargain). I've been enjoying the first 30 levels or so and am heavily considering paying the dollar for the extra 64. I am sharing this game not because of the gameplay. The highlight of the game for me is it's sense of humour. The creators were very good at giving me a giggle whenever I die in a level. The other thing I'm going to mention in this post goes under the category: awesome web comic. Please if you ever read anything in your life read His Face All Red (seriously go do it now). This is possibly the most powerful story telling I've ever encountered in web comics. Hit the jump for a couple silly C&C death screens (can't spoil them all)
Kate or Die!

The site is described as a "combination/sketch/comics/inspiration blog" (we think of MGD as the same except without sketches, comics, or inspiration). Kate is very intimate with her readers. She lays out everything. Reading her comic almost feels like reading a diary. Behind the simple cartoony style you feel like you are getting to know the author on a personal level (She reveals things about herself that I would only ever admit to in a competitive game of "Never Have I Ever"... after the fourth or fifth shot of tequila). You get all of Kate all at once whether you are ready or not. Kate will be selling her first printed comic (featured in an issue of Locke and Key) at Strange Adventures this Wednesday.
The Guide to the Known Keys comes out everywhere this Wednesday, November 23rd. If you live in Halifax, I’ll be at Strange Adventures on Wednesday from 12-2 and I’ll have prints of that second image! I did it up as a little extra incentive to support my first print comic. I’m pretty excited about the whole thing, if you couldn’t tell. :) - linkUnfortunately I'm stuck in Podunk, Nowhere so I'm trying to send Perry The Saurus in my stead to pick me up a copy. Fingers set to crossed!

And of course check out Kate's comic here.
Till the next post.
Ghosts of Web Comic Past 2: Last Action
While in university, Jason and I would have play dates twice a week. We would talk about current events near and dear to us, play World Of Warcraft, or play SNES Emulators. Every once and awhile we would try to write and make a web comic strip. We had purchased the domain www.lastactiongamer.net and put up our splash page.
The comic was going to be a story line with the odd gaming content
strip to change things up now and then. We managed a very modest number
of strips before we lost interest/gave up on the project. I lost a few (including my favourite but what can you do) However I decided since I've began blogging I should post up the rest. Because I'm a jerk and lazy about posting I decided that I would put up some strips with this post, then save the rest for when I'm feeling lazy.

Hit the jump
for the first pages of the comic and a few sketches. (All of these were
drawn by Jason and Coloured by me, we collaborated on the "writing")Enjoy!
First post! Ghost of Web Comic past #1
Hello world!
Hopefully this will be the start of a habit (an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.) The call of creativity is a strong and powerful thing, only equaled by the call of procrastination. However hopefully this post will mark the moment in which my friends and I finally break the proverbial cycle.
I think that it is fitting for the first post on this blog to be a part from a long dead project killed by the procrastination of myself and J. Years ago we attempted of all things a web comic. Neither of us knew how much time and energy it would take until we decided we sucked at it and gave up. However it gives me some material to stick up here. The comic had two types of strips. Story strips (I will post on these strips later with explanation of the characters)and more game focused strips. This one is my favourite.

Until the next post.
